Put the river at the centre of the stay

Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok is at Charoen Krung Soi 30 in Si Phraya, Bang Rak. Older booking references may call it Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers; the current Marriott name makes the river location explicit. This is a different starting point from a hotel selected mainly for the Sukhumvit shopping and rail corridor. Choose it because time beside the Chao Phraya, and trips using its boat connections, are part of the plan.

The hotel advertises complimentary boat links to Sathorn and ICONSIAM. That is a practical asset, but it is also a service with a timetable, rather than an on-demand substitute for every city journey. Check the current departure points and last return before building an evening around it. Travellers carrying luggage or travelling with children should allow time for boarding and the next stage of a journey. The attraction is using the river intentionally, instead of treating it only as a view from a window.

Rooms and the difference a category makes

Marriott describes 726 rooms and suites, with river views across the accommodation collection. That gives the property a clear visual focus, although the exact angle and amount of space still depend on the room selected. Its Junior River View Suite description specifically mentions floor-to-ceiling windows. A suite photograph should not be used to predict the layout of a standard room, and a river-view label does not by itself specify bedding or family occupancy.

The Sheraton Club Lounge offers river views, refreshments and evening food and beverage benefits for eligible guests. Marriott also lists qualifying elite-member access. It is worth comparing a club rate with the meals you would actually use, while checking the number of people covered and any child arrangements. The lounge is a booking distinction, not an inclusion that follows automatically from staying anywhere in this large hotel.

A balanced reading of guest experience

Original June 2026 Trip.com reports show why room category and condition should both enter the decision. A Deluxe King River View guest highlighted the outlook toward ICONSIAM, while a Family King Suite guest valued the space. Another guest in a room with two double beds found the room small. Those reports can all be true: choosing the hotel for a river view does not mean that every category provides the same usable floor area.

Several May–June accounts described an established property with older rooms. One guest found the room old but clean; another praised the view while reporting an unpleasant room smell. A May guest found the older accommodation well maintained and the air-conditioning effective. This is mixed evidence rather than a reason to promise either newly renovated accommodation or universal disrepair. Ask about the specific room condition, and raise any odour or maintenance issue promptly on arrival.

Facilities beyond the bedroom

The official offering includes Garden and Terrace swimming pools, giving the grounds a stronger leisure role than a single compact tower pool. A fitness centre, sauna, jogging and tennis facilities are also listed. If a particular sport or treatment matters to your stay, confirm present availability and booking arrangements. The supplied property photographs are useful illustrations of setting and public areas, but they cannot establish the condition of a room allocated on a future date.

Dining includes Siam Yacht Club, which the hotel describes through European and Asian influences, while a Let’s Relax spa is also advertised. These help make the hotel a place to spend an afternoon and evening as well as sleep. Royal Orchid Sheraton is best suited to travellers who actively want a river-based Bangkok stay, who will use boat services and who compare room categories carefully. Its broad appeal comes with the scale and character of an established hotel, so the strongest booking decision combines the river setting with realistic expectations about room age, transport timing and the precise benefits included.
