Pathumwan Princess Hotel is connected to MBK, making the shopping mall part of the route in and out of the hotel. Its other unusually strong feature is the Olympic Club, with a much broader exercise offering than a small hotel gym. The eighth-floor pool is 25 metres long. Together these features give the property two clear uses: a shopping base around Siam and a hotel where exercise can remain part of the trip.
The mall connection is useful, but it is still a walk
The official website describes direct access to MBK and a skywalk route towards Siam. A Trip.com guest liked being able to walk through the air-conditioned mall from the BTS, while noting that the route involved crossing the mall rather than stepping immediately from a train into the lobby. That is a small but practical distinction, especially with shopping bags or when returning several times during the day.
The connection is the hotel’s strongest location advantage. A stay can combine shopping and meals in MBK with the wider Siam area, without arranging a car for every nearby outing. It does not mean that all of Bangkok is on the doorstep, nor does it remove the walking involved in moving between the mall, the hotel and rail services.
The Olympic Club is more than a fitness-room icon
Pathumwan Princess lists over 100 workout stations at the Olympic Club. The published offering also includes exercise classes, tennis, squash and badminton, a jogging track, a basketball half-court and a boxing ring. The range matters because it offers different ways to exercise: a traveller who does not want a treadmill session may still find something useful in the sports facilities.
The swimming pool has its own clear specification: a 25-metre outdoor pool on the eighth floor, using a salt-chlorinated system. That is valuable information for someone who wants to swim lengths rather than simply sit beside water. The hotel’s claims about health benefits of its water-treatment system are not repeated here; the practical facts are the pool’s size, position and published treatment method.
A club facility can serve a broader membership as well as hotel users, so the range of equipment should not be read as a guarantee of empty space. Court access, classes and equipment arrangements are separate from the simple fact that those facilities exist. A hotel guest planning to use several of them has a stronger reason to choose the property than someone who will never visit the club.

The rooms do not all start at the same size
The hotel lists Deluxe Classic rooms at 33 square metres and Grand Deluxe at 36 square metres. Grand Deluxe Corner and Grand Deluxe Triple are listed at 42 square metres, with the triple category specifically presented for three adults. These are meaningful category differences; the same hotel name does not establish the amount of floor space or bedding in every reservation.
A Trip.com guest described the room as clean and said it did not feel dated, despite the hotel being established. Another guest liked the cleaning but found the bin small. These are individual reports rather than evidence that every fixture is new. They suggest that day-to-day room upkeep can matter as much as the building’s age, while leaving the particular category and condition as separate questions.
A practical combination for an active city trip
Pathumwan Princess also lists restaurants offering Korean, Italian and other cuisines, giving an alternative to the food choices inside MBK. There is no need to claim that the hotel restaurants are better than those outside to make the point: a visitor can return to the property for a swim or workout and still have somewhere to eat without another journey.
This hotel makes most sense when both its connections and facilities will be used. Shoppers get the MBK route; swimmers and gym users get specific, substantial facilities. The main qualification is to understand the walk through the mall and the room category being reserved. Those details describe the actual shape of a stay more accurately than a generic claim that the hotel is close to everything.
