Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Bangkok Menam Riverside occupies the east bank of the Chao Phraya on Charoen Krung Road. The river, outdoor pool and hotel boat service are central to the appeal. A river-view room and an easy journey by boat can both be rewarding here, but guest accounts show why the exact outlook and the departure schedule matter more than a general riverside label.
A long-established riverfront address
The hotel traces its opening to 1986 under the Menam Riverside name. Its official site describes 285 metres of river frontage and rooms facing the river, pool or city. That is useful context for a property with several different room and suite categories. Staying beside the Chao Phraya does not mean every window faces directly out across it.
The address is 2074 Charoenkrung Road in Bang Kho Laem. The hotel lists a shuttle boat and tuk-tuk service alongside its other facilities. A Superior Twin guest on Trip.com found those services useful for reaching the BTS connection and nearby night market. They offer an alternative to treating every outing as a car journey, but they are scheduled services rather than a station directly attached to the hotel.
The river view depends on the room position
A family guest in a Deluxe King Room with River View reported a partly obstructed outlook, with neighbouring sections of the building extending on either side. They still liked the daylight, space, bed and quiet nights. Another guest in a Deluxe Twin with River View praised the river outlook. Those reports need not cancel each other out: two rooms with a similar category name can occupy different positions.
The official room list distinguishes Superior, Deluxe River View, Thai Deluxe River View and several suites, including city-view, river-view and balcony options. A balcony therefore belongs to a named category rather than every riverside room. The broad room selection makes it particularly unhelpful to describe a single photograph as the standard experience throughout the property.

A boat connection with a timetable
A solo guest in a Deluxe King river-view room found the frequency and evening finish of the boat inconvenient. That report is a warning about relying on the service, not a verified current timetable. Another family guest valued the boat very highly. Both can be true when one guest travels at times that fit departures and another does not. No departure interval or final boat time is fixed in this review.
Breakfast accounts also differ. A guest in a river-view twin room liked the selection, while a guest in a river-view king room was less impressed. A separate family guest found some facilities older but clean and functional. These comments describe the sort of trade-off at this long-established hotel more clearly than a blanket claim of either modern luxury or tired rooms.
Ramada Plaza Menam Riverside is most convincing for travellers who want the river setting and can use the hotel facilities without rushing every departure. The pool and water views add substance to time spent on site. For a tightly timed itinerary, the scheduled connection is the main limitation to weigh, and the room’s position is particularly relevant when paying for a river outlook.
A triple can mean three proper beds
The hotel’s Family Triple page identifies a particularly useful option for three people travelling together: 40 square metres with three twin beds. It describes a river or Asiatique Ferris-wheel outlook, a desk, tea and coffee facilities and a separate bathtub and walk-in shower. This is a different sleeping solution from squeezing a third person onto a sofa or adding a rollaway to a double room. The same page notes that some connecting rooms are available, making it worth comparing a confirmed triple arrangement with a larger family’s need for linked accommodation.
There is a discrepancy worth resolving before purchase: the broad room overview advertises a minimum size of 36 square metres, while some category descriptions show smaller figures. Use the detailed listing for the exact room on the reservation and ask the hotel to clarify any conflicting size claim.
