The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam is a large Pratunam property at 559 Ratchaprarop Road, with a direct connection to Palladium shopping centre. Its location makes particular sense for a visit built around markets and malls. The hotel lists 788 guest rooms, so its character is that of a substantial city hotel rather than a small retreat.
Shopping is the clearest reason to stay here
Pratunam Market, Platinum Fashion Mall, Big C and CentralWorld appear in the hotel’s surrounding shopping area. A returning Tripadvisor guest who stayed in January 2026 particularly liked access to these places and the hotel’s own entry into Palladium. For someone buying clothing or returning with shopping bags, that connection is a more specific advantage than the broad claim of a central Bangkok location.
The same guest used the courtesy bus and public transport. Their comments describe an area where exploring on foot and making onward journeys both formed part of the stay. They do not establish that every major attraction or train station is immediately outside the entrance.
Room categories can make a substantial difference
One family guest staying in July 2026 reported receiving a smaller room than expected from their booking. The hotel’s response described a discrepancy in the room category transmitted by the booking provider and said a move was offered the following day. The two accounts differ about responsibility, so the episode cannot fairly be presented as proof of habitual overbooking.
It does show why two reviews of the Berkeley can concern quite different accommodation. A family choosing a larger category has different space requirements from a solo traveller who mainly wants shopping access. The room experience needs to be read alongside the category, rather than inferred from the hotel’s overall size or appearance.

The two towers have distinct room options
The current official accommodation guide makes the tower distinction explicit. Luxury rooms in the Main Tower are 35 square metres and offer king or twin beds. The Main Tower also has a 50-square-metre Luxury Quadruple category with two queen beds and a bathtub. Those are materially different arrangements for people sharing, even though both carry the word Luxury.
In the North Tower, the Premier room is 35 square metres with twin beds. The current guide describes a 57-square-metre Premier Family room with a king and a single bed, and a 55-square-metre Premier Family Bunk Bed option with a king and a bunk. Published occupancy descriptions are not entirely consistent across the bunk-room page, so confirm the number and ages of all occupants directly in the booking.
These published categories also explain why the July guest’s disputed booking should remain an account of that reservation, rather than a reliable guide to the dimensions of every room today. Room names, stated size, tower and bedding are four separate items to match before paying. The hotel’s twin-tower exterior photograph makes the scale of the property visible, but cannot show which room arrangement a particular price actually purchases.
The Main Tower’s Executive category is also 35 square metres, positioned on the top two floors; its premium concerns location and privileges rather than additional floor space.
The hotel dates its establishment to 2013. More practically for a shared booking, the Main Tower Quadruple uses two queen beds, whereas the North Tower Family combines a king and single: those arrangements give companions quite different sleeping options.
A lively base rather than an isolated escape
The property lists a pool and fitness centre, adding ways to spend time at the hotel between trips out. Guest feedback also includes praise for housekeeping and breakfast. Those benefits sit within a shopping-centred urban stay, rather than a resort setting away from Bangkok’s streets.
The Berkeley’s strongest case is its Pratunam position and the option to return directly from Palladium. The mixed room-category account is a useful limitation to that appeal. The location may be exactly right for a shopping-heavy visit, while someone seeking a small, quiet property or a station-linked entrance may value a different style of hotel.
