Montraj Continent tower and elevated swimming pool

Montraj Continent Sukhumvit Bangkok is the current name of the property many travellers still recognise as The Continent Bangkok by Compass Hospitality. The address remains 413 Sukhumvit Road in the Asok area. This review concerns that tower, rather than another Montraj property in the city. The official Agoda feed matches its hotel identity to the current name, which is useful when an older bookmark or booking confirmation uses the earlier branding.

Its strongest proposition is the combination of a central Sukhumvit base and elevated spaces looking across Bangkok. Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT give the neighbourhood two different rail routes, while Terminal 21 is nearby. Those are tangible advantages for a city itinerary. They do not, by themselves, settle the more variable questions of room condition, breakfast or the quality of an individual night’s sleep.

Room names need careful comparison

The official room page lists the Deluxe Twin at 28 square metres for two guests, with a work area, wardrobe and bedside controls. A separately described High Floor Twin is 35 square metres and occupies floors 22 to 32. That difference matters: “twin” describes the beds, but does not tell the whole story about space or height. Photographs of a bright upper-floor room should not be treated as a promise for the entry category.

The current site also lists connecting family accommodation and a one-bedroom suite with separate living space. These are distinct layouts, rather than interchangeable upgrades. The more practical question is whether the party needs separate beds, adjoining rooms or a door between sleeping and sitting areas. An individual guest in a Premier Corner King with Sofa Bed, staying in June 2026, particularly liked the natural light and comfort. That is useful evidence for the experience of that category, with the usual limit of being one stay.

An evening above Sukhumvit

The official property pages name Bangkok Heightz, Axis & Spin and H2O Sky Pool Bar. Together with the photographed rooftop swimming pool, these explain why the hotel can appeal to someone who wants part of the Bangkok skyline experience within the building. The setting has a different purpose from a large garden resort pool: the city itself is an important part of the outlook.

The June corner-room guest also enjoyed the pool and bar, though they considered the drinks expensive. A view-led evening can therefore be a reason to choose the property without being a reason to assume that every part of the stay represents low-cost value. A hotel rate and spending at a rooftop outlet are separate parts of the budget.

Recent reports show operational variation

Guest accounts from 2026 are mixed in ways that deserve attention. A returning solo traveller staying in August found the room comfortable and the location particularly convenient, but noticed an unusual smell on both visits. They also regretted the removal of country-themed floor decorations. This is a more specific assessment than either an unqualified endorsement of the new branding or an assumption that a new name means every room has changed.

A June family reported an air-conditioning problem and praised the efficient late-night room change. Another family, staying in July, described delayed room readiness, worn interiors and limited breakfast seating. A June business guest likewise found breakfast choice disappointing despite liking the staff and location. These reports concern different rooms and dates; they establish variability rather than a certainty that a future guest will encounter the same problems.

Who the property suits

Montraj Continent makes the clearest case for travellers who prioritise Asok connections, upper-floor city outlooks and an on-site rooftop evening. The room-category differences and recent maintenance complaints deserve as much weight as the attractive skyline photographs. For a stay built around breakfast variety or a consistently polished room finish, the evidence is less reassuring. Its practical appeal is clear, but the current name should be assessed alongside the detailed guest experiences.
